Return to Stage 3 of the Return to Play Guidelines

January 25th, 2021

Rugby PA has announced a transition to Stage 3 of the Return to Play Guidelines effective Monday, January 25th. There was a return to Stage 2 following state regulations being put in place at the end of last year. The return to Stage 3 will allow teams to participate in non-contact drills and activities with shared equipment. Non-contact intra-squad competition (touch rugby) will be permitted during this stage, while all inter-squad competition (scrimmages) will not be permitted. The goal is to transition to Stage 4 in the next several weeks, allowing teams to commence contact training prior to the start of the season. League play will begin on Sunday, April 11th, with a draft schedule to be released in the near future.

Clubs are reminded that all participants (including players, coaches, and trainers) must wear masks throughout the entire training sessions. This includes players engaged in drills and games.
