Find out where and when to watch the world's best

As Pennsylvania’s rugby season fast approaches, now is a perfect time to improve through watching the world's best. As in any sport, it’s important to learn from those competing at the highest levels. This is especially true for young rugby players, who are often just learning about the game. Many professional leagues and competitions are set to begin soon, with none bigger than the Six Nations. This five week competition of European National teams, starts this weekend with Ireland taking on Wales.

Super Rugby Pacific, a professional league with teams from New Zealand, Australia, Samoa, and Fiji, will kick off in two weeks on February 18th. Watching high level matches like these as a young player, can help develop a better understanding of how to play the sport. Any coach will tell you that it is imperative for any aspiring rugby player to become both a student and fan of the game. The more you watch, the more you learn.

Rugby Pennsylvania would like to help you learn from professional rugby, with the creation of the How to Watch Rugby page. This one-stop-shop landing page will give you all the information and links to follow along and watch this season.

This Saturday, February 5th, at 3:00pm, Old Glory DC is taking on Rugby ATL, in the kickoff match for the 5th season of Major League Rugby. Over the next 18 weeks there will be more than a 100 professional matches played here in North America. Each week six games will take place across the United States and Canada, with the new expansion team the Dallas Jackals making it a 13-team competition.

This year's MLR season is poised to be an exciting one. There is a talented group of experienced players coming from overseas, mixed with plenty of home-grown American talent. The league is readily available to view on the Rugby Network app and website. Games will also be televised weekly on FOX Sports FS1 & FS2.
