High School Rugby Championship 2014

Rugby Pennsylvania (RugbyPA), in partnership with United World Sports and Penn Mutual Insurance, are pleased to again bring you the High School Rugby Challenge (HSRC), the nation’s premier High School Sevens Rugby Tournament, held in Philadelphia May 29 through May 31, 2015.

 

The HSRC is committed to promoting the nation’s best boys and girls high school players and teams every year.    Year after year, we continue to improve the event and experience.  This year, the HSRC will offer:

  • High School Boys Club Division
  • High School Boys Single School Division
  • High School Girls Division
  • Consolation Rounds 
  • Consolidated event venues, utilizing the two new outdoor pitches at PPL Park

 

Event Timeline:

  • High School Pool and Playoff Round Play – Friday, May 29, 2015 and Saturday, May 30, 2015
  • High School Playoff Rounds - Saturday, May 30, 2015
  • High School Finals & Consolation Final– Sunday, May 31, 2015

 

All High School teams will receive:

  • Transportation from the event hotels to the venues 
  • Discounted event hotel rooms
  • Water and food packs Friday during the Friday Pool Play
  • Friday Night HSRC Event Reception
  • 20 two-day passes to the CRC event
  • Participation in the Sunday Team Showcase inside PPL Park, including the Middle School teams
  • Discounted tickets for supporters and fans

 

High School Participation Requirements:

  • One certified head Coach
  • One Team Manager assigned as main point of contact for the event
  • Entry fees of $1000 with deposits of $500 due March 30, 2015
  • Completed hotel arrangements by May 1, 2015
  • Proof of team and coach registrations with USA Rugby by April 15, 2015
  • Team rosters of 12 players
  • Single School Teams must be comprised of players meeting all of the following:
    • currently enrolled in the same High School or District (grades 9 through 12), enrolled in a GED Program or Home-Schooled while residing in the district in 2015
    • registered with USA Rugby and their SRO (if applicable) as a player for the participating school for the Spring 2015 season, no later than April 15, 2015
    • 18-years of age or younger and not exceeding 4 years of High School Eligibility
  • Club / Multi-School Teams must be comprised of players meeting all of the following:
    • currently enrolled in a High School (grades 9 through 12), enrolled in a GED Program or Home-Schooled as of January 2015
    • registered with USA Rugby as a player for the participating team as of May 1, 2015
    • 18-years of age or younger and not exceeding 4 years of High School Eligibility
