 The EPRRS will be conducting a Level 1 Officiating Course in Malvern, PA on January 23rd 2016.

Level 1

Date & Time:  Saturday, January 23rd – 9:30 a.m.

Location:  Malvern Preparatory School 418 S. Warren Ave  Malvern, PA 19355

Educators: Len Borcky, Doug Syme

Eligibility: Registrants must have current CIPP registration with USA Rugby

Cost: $60 (course fee) Must be paid on ahead of time at USA http://usarugby.org/referee-courses

Walk in fee $75.00

Certification: Current USA Rugby membership, attend and participate in all course modules, pass online law exam and rugby ready exam prior to course.

Description: The purpose of this introductory course is to enable officials to acquire basic skills to officiate safe, enjoyable competition. Course certification is required for anyone who wishes to referee any match that could potentially lead to a National Championship.

The course focuses on: Game knowledge, role of the referee, planning, principles of Rugby, referee preparation, game management, risk management, and how to have fun as a Rugby referee.

A significant portion of the day will be spent working on some of the practical aspects of rugby refereeing. Attendees should wear comfortable clothes and shoes.
