Atlantis brought two High School Girls teams to the Las Vegas International Invitational Tournament to compete in the U-18 Elite and High School Open Divisions. Atlantis is a select touring side whose goal is to identify talented players at regional camps, teach the game of rugby sevens, and compete against the best competition possible through tours.

RugbyPA was represented with 2 players and RugbyPA All State Girls Sevens Coach Wayne DiMarco. Congratulations to Alex DiMarco (White Horse) and Paige Krahling (White Horse). Girls from New Jersey, New York, Virginia, Colorado, Wisconsin, and California rounded out the squad, and coaches Kevin Corley (New Jersey Blaze) and Lisa Huff Henrich (former Atlantis player and current coach of Orchard Park) rounded out the coaching staff.

The U-18 Elite Girls ended the weekend with a 3-3 record, beating an Academy Select Side from Utah, Rhino Rugby Academy I, and Rhino Rugby Academy II. Competing hard in every game, they lost 26-19 to a select side from New Zealand (they got to witness first hand just how intimidating the Hacka can be prior to a match, but will take away a very memorable moment), and lost in a very competitive game 22-12 to the eventual champions British Columbia High Performance Academy.

The High School Girls Open went 2-1 on day one beating Mavericks (from Alberta Canada) and Rugby Virginia and made it to the Cup Round for day two. Facing the #1 seed and eventual tournament champions from British Columbia, the Atlantis Girls competed hard but came up short. Their last game was against Fallbrook (the five time defending National Champions from California) losing a close game 12-0.

The coaching staff are all very proud of the girls. Each player rose to the challenge and left the tournament having impressed all with their ability to compete against some of the top High School Girls 7's players in the world.
